Six Haikus by Malay Roychoudhury translated by Arunava Sinha

 Translated by Arunava Sinha

Six haikus:

Spring in netherland
Swarms of bees knock at the door
The girl's floating corpse
~
Leaning out to see
The sky spread across the wind
Taillights just like blood
~
Her hands on her hips
Emperor Ashoka weeps
Black and freezing rocks
~
Crematorium
Coils of smoke and darting shrimps
The Buddha walks by
~
Someone's dead body
Hanging from the ceiling fan
There's a male spider
~
Memories of thieves
Tagore's slippers on the shelf
Much too large in size
